1993--Joe V. Romero retired as municipal court judge.
1993--Lions Frankie Tenorio, Kenny Bradley and Mike Ward were chosen to participate in the North-South AA All-Star Football game.
1993--Joseph Storey was the Lions Player of the Week.
1993--Bobby Serrano opened the Route 66 Trading Post at 603 Parker.
1993--Miss Ruth Marie Louise Storey became the bride of Shane T. Butler at the Mesa Temple in Arizona.
1993--Miss Loretta Castillo won the Vaughn Schools Spelling Bee. Runner-up was Rusty Reed.
1993--Miss Cheryl Urban was chosen to participate in the prestigious ballet workshop this summer in Washington, D.C.
1983--The City of Santa Rosa received grants of over a million dollars, which will include a new Senior Citizens Center.
1983--The State Corporation Commission approved an $11 million sale of Mountain Bell telephone exchanges to the Eastern New Mexico Rural Telephone Cooperative.
1983--The local Farmers Home Administration office was closed.
1983--Dan Flores and Miss Yvette Rivera were crowned Junior Carnival King and Queen.
1983--Bobby Cordova's Chevron Mart is constructing a new car wash.
1983--Matthew Gallegos was named the Student of the Month at the Vaughn Schools.
1983--After living in Vaughn since 1923 with the exception of a few years in Tucumcari, Antonio Segura and his wife Antonia, have again moved to Tucumcari.
1983--Raymond Gutierrez has retired after 22 years in the Navy.
1983--Pedro "Pete" Pacheco was elected president of the Senior Citizens Organization.
1983--Charles Serrano was honored for thirty years of continuous service at the First National Bank.
1983--Miss Fara Jolene Page and Carter L. Scott were married in a ceremony on G.W. McReynolds Ranch at Merkel, Texas.
1983--Miss Barbara Ann Perea was selected to be included in the Outstanding Young Women of America publication.
1983--Richard J. Marquez was placed on the Superintendents List at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.
1973--Robert I. Cordova defeated Manuel Maestas, Jr. for a seat on the Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools Board of Education.
1973--Eugenio Perez, III and Leandro Abeyta were elected as new directors of the Citizens State Bank of Vaughn.
1973--Isidro Joe Marino defeated Speedy Tommy Montoya for a seat on the Vaughn Schools Board of Education.
1973--Miss Elleen Dudrey was installed as Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Assembly.
